التقت الدكتورة مايا مرسي وزيرة التضامن الاجتماعي، السيدة فاليري هوبر رئيسة ومؤسسة معهد الصحة الأمريكي IWH، والوفد المرافق لها، بحضور الأستاذة دينا الصيرفي مساعد وزيرة التضامن الاجتماعي للتعاون الدولي للعلاقات والاتفاقات الدولية، والأستاذة أميرة تاج مدير عام إدارة العلاقات الدولية والاتفاقيات بالوزارة، وذلك بمقر الوزارة بالعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة.
واستهلت وزيرة التضامن الاجتماعي اللقاء بالترحيب بالسيدة فاليري هوبر رئيسة ومؤسسة معهد الصحة الأمريكي IWH، مرحبة بالتعاون بين الجانبين لدعم حقوق المرأة، حيث شهد اللقاء بحث تعزيز سبل التعاون والشراكة بين الجانبين.
وأكدت الدكتورة مايا مرسي الاهتمام الذى توليه الدولة لدعم صحة المرأة وبصفة خاصة مبادرة السيد رئيس الجمهورية “دعم صحة المرأة المصرية” واعتبار صحة المرأة المصرية هى صحة المجتمع والشعب المصري ككل، مشيرة كذلك إلى برنامج الألف يوم الأولى فى حياة الطفل والذى تنفذه وزرة التضامن الاجتماعي بالتعاون مع برنامج الأغذية العالمي، كما تعمل الوزارة على كل ما يتعلق بالأسرة والمرأة بشكل كامل وتولي هذا الأمر اهتمامًا كبيرًا.
واستعرضت وزيرة التضامن الاجتماعي مجالات عمل الوزارة ، والتي يأتي على رأسها الحماية الاجتماعية ودعم الفئات الأولى بالرعاية، وبصفة خاصة المرأة والأيتام وكبار السن، ودعم الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، والرعاية البديلة.
ومن جانبها أبدت السيدة فاليري هوبر رئيسة ومؤسسة معهد الصحة الأمريكي IWH تقديرها لوزيرة التضامن الاجتماعي لما تمتلكه من خبرات كبيرة على المستويين الدولي والمحلي، مشيرة إلى أن معهد الصحة الأمريكي يهتم بقضايا تعزيز صحة المرأة، وحماية الحق في الحياة، وحماية الأسرة.
وأشارت إلى مبادرة بورتيجو والتي ينفذها المعهد بالشراكة مع الوزارات الحكومية بهدف التأثير على تدريب القطاع العام فى مجالات التعليم والرعاية ، مبدية رغبتها فى تنفيذ هذه المبادرة بالشراكة مع مصر باعتبارها أهم دولة فى منطقة شمال أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط، وذلك وفق السياق الوطني، وفي إطار الخصائص الثقافية المصرية، مبدية كذلك اهتمامها بإعلان توافق جنيف “Geneva Consensus Declaration”وهو وثيقة دولية تم توقيعها لأول مرة من قبل مجموعة من الدول من بينها مصر والبرازيل وأوغندا والولايات المتحدة بهدف تعزيز قيم محددة تتعلق بالصحة والمرأة والأسرة ودعم الصحة العامة للمرأة.
واختتم اللقاء بترحيب كلا الجانبين بالتعاون والشراكة بين الوزارة ومعهد الصحة الأمريكي، ودراسة مقترح مبادرة بورتيجو وإمكانية تنفيذها في مصر بالتعاون مع معهد الصحة الأمريكي IWH.
